It's always fun to get out on the river. Even more fun when there are kids involved. Check out the video above to see some of the fun we had earlier in September with a group on our paddle from Coleman Lake to Midville.
Marley is now 8 months old, and she has been all over the place with me for work -- from Baltimore to Seattle and running up and down the road here in Georgia.
I had the great pleasure of visiting with Rick Dove, founder of Neuse Riverkeeper in North Carolina, and all around amazing guy this week. Dianna and I had a chance to get out on the water with Rick and show him the beauty of the river. While we were out, Rick suggested this title for my blog entry. (He also took a great picture of Dianna at Wayne Carney's place on the Ogeechee, see below).

We will meet at Highway 119 and end at private property down river. This is a 5-hour paddle and could be longer if there is a lot of trash. This trip is not for novice paddlers or small children. Children 13 and above must be with an adult. All participants must be good swimmers. Participants will need to bring water bottles, sack lunch, snacks, gloves, hat, and sunglasses and please dress appropriately. Participants must bring their own canoes, paddles, life vest and OCRK will provide t-shirts, trash bags, and bug spray. OCRK will shuttle all participants’ cars to the takeout before the cleanup begins.
